• Chemical Composition: Defoaming polysiloxane solution.
• Solvents: Ethylene glycol butyl ether / 2-ethylhexanol / petroleum solvent (in a ratio of 6:2:1).
• Typical Physicochemical Data: Appearance is liquid; density is approximately 0.88 g/ml (at 20℃); non-volatile content is 10%; flash point is 50℃.
• Features and Advantages: It is most suitable for water-based coatings used as air-drying and stoving primers, especially amine-neutralized ones. It can also be applied in coatings for metal substrates and curable coating systems.
• Application Fields: Suitable for both solvent-borne coatings and water-based coatings.
• Recommended Dosage: The dosage of the additive (in the as-supplied form) is 0.1%-0.7% based on the total formulation. The optimal dosage must be determined through a series of tests.
• Addition Method: For optimal performance, the defoamer should be added to the millbase before the grinding process. If added at a later stage, sufficiently high shear force is required to ensure good dispersion of the defoamer and prevent cratering. Additionally, the full effectiveness of the defoamer can only be achieved 24 hours after it is incorporated into the system.
• Packaging Specifications: Available in 25 kg/barrel and 170 kg/barrel.
