  • Toxicity to Aquatic Organisms: The LC50 for common carp is greater than 7.87 mg/L; the LC50 (96-hour) for rainbow trout is 100 mg/L; and the LC50 (48-hour) for water fleas is 92.7 mg/L.
  • Toxicity to Bees: The contact toxicity LD50 (48-hour) for bees is 0.0025 μg per bee.

4. Mode of Action

Spinosad acts on the nervous system of insects, causing pests to rapidly become paralyzed and ultimately die.

5. Formulations

  • Single-Active-Ingredient Formulations: 2.5% Spinosad Suspension Concentrate (SC), 25 g/L Spinosad SC, 480 g/L Spinosad SC, 0.02% Spinosad Bait, etc.
  • Mixed Formulations: Combinations with chlorpyrifos and lambda-cyhalothrin.

6. Target Pests & Application Crops/Scenarios

  • Agricultural Use: Mainly applied to fruit trees, tea plants, vegetables, lawns, and other crops. It controls a wide range of pests, including nematodes, thrips, leafminers, etc.
  • Non-Agricultural Use: Also used for treating head lice infestations in patients aged 4 years and above.

7. Application Methods

  • For Diamondback Moth Control: Dilute 2.5% Spinosad SC to a 1000–1500-fold solution and spray during the early larval stage of the pest.
  • For Thrips Control: Dilute 2.5% Spinosad SC to a 1000–1500-fold solution and spray at the early stage of pest occurrence, with a focus on spraying young and tender plant tissues.
  • For Head Lice Infestation Treatment: Shake well before use. Wet the hair with the lotion, leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse the hair thoroughly. Use a comb to remove dead lice and nits. If head lice are not completely eliminated, repeat the application after 7 days.

8. Precautions

  • Do not mix with alkaline pesticides or other incompatible substances. It is recommended to alternate use with insecticides of different modes of action to delay the development of pest resistance.
  • Toxic to bees, fish, silkworms, water fleas, algae, birds, and other organisms. Prohibit use near aquaculture areas, rivers, ponds, and other water bodies; do not clean application equipment in such water bodies. Prohibit use in beekeeping areas and during the flowering period of surrounding flowering plants; also prohibit use near silkworm rooms and mulberry orchards.
  • Wear protective gear during application, avoid inhaling the pesticide solution, and do not eat or drink during application. After application, wash hands, face, and other exposed skin promptly.
