    Product Description

    Product NameAsulam

    CAS No:3337-71-1

    Form:White crystals

    Product Application

    Sugarcane Fields (Primary Use)

This is the most significant and classic application for Asulam.

Target Weeds: Highly effective against broadleaf weeds such as Amaranthusspp. (pigweed), Chenopodiumspp. (lamb's quarters), Portulaca oleracea(purslane), and Commelinaspp. (dayflower). It also controls sedges like Cyperus rotundus(purple nutsedge) and some annual grasses.

Advantages: It has an excellent safety profile for sugarcane, promoting healthy crop growth without causing significant phytotoxicity. It can be applied post-emergence when weeds are at the 2-4 leaf stage.

    Turfgrass and Pastures

Used on managed turf and forage areas where broadleaf weed control is needed.

Turf: Applied on cool-season grasses like Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, and Tall Fescue (e.g., golf courses, lawns, sports fields).

Pastures: Used in legume-based pastures (e.g., alfalfa, clover) to control broadleaf weeds without harming the forage crop.

Target Weeds: Controls Taraxacum officinale(dandelion), Plantagospp. (plantain), Galium aparine(cleavers), and Stellaria media(chickweed).

    Non-Cropland Areas

Utilized for general vegetation management in areas not used for cultivation.

Sites: Railroads, roadsides, airport runways, industrial sites, and utility rights-of-way.

Function: Controls perennial and annual broadleaf weeds and suppresses woody brush seedlings.

    Other Specific Crops

Rubber & Tea Plantations: Applied as a directed spray between rows to manage weeds without contacting the crop foliage.

Flax (Linseed): Used in some regions for selective broadleaf weed control, though sensitivity varies by variety.
