3. Product Characteristics

  • Excellent Surface Activity: Boasts superior detergency, strong foaming power, and stable foam. It can reduce the surface tension of water from 72 mN·m⁻¹ to approximately 30–40 mN·m⁻¹, ensuring effective cleaning performance.
  • Strong Hard Water Resistance: Exhibits outstanding resistance to hard water—its foaming capacity remains nearly unchanged in hard water environments. It also has strong calcium soap dispersing ability, preventing the formation of insoluble precipitates with calcium/magnesium ions.
  • Mildness: Low toxicity and low irritation; it is gentler on the skin and eyes compared to Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) and Alkyl Sulfate (AS), making it suitable for mild cleaning products.
  • Good Biodegradability: Fully biodegrades within 5–7 days in natural environments, causing no environmental pollution and complying with eco-friendly requirements.

4. Main Applications

4.1 Detergent & Cosmetic Industry

  • Serves as the preferred primary raw material for laundry detergents, compound soaps, dishwashing detergents, and phosphate-free detergents, enhancing cleaning and foaming effects.
  • Used in personal care products such as shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers, providing mild cleansing while maintaining skin and hair comfort.

4.2 Industrial Fields

  • Textile & Dyeing Industry: Acts as a wetting agent, emulsifier, or cleaning agent to improve processing efficiency and product quality.
  • Petroleum & Oilfield Industry: Applied in enhanced oil recovery (EOR, tertiary oil recovery) to reduce oil-water interfacial tension and increase oil production.
  • Other Uses: Functions as a concrete density improver, fire-fighting foaming agent, and pesticide emulsifier, meeting diverse industrial needs.

5. Packaging and Storage

5.1 Packaging

  • AOS/35 & AOS/38 (Liquid Form): Usually packaged in 200Kg plastic drums, IBC totes (intermediate bulk containers), or flexible liquid bags.
  • AOS/92 (Powder Form): Typically packed in 15Kg or 25Kg composite bags (with moisture-proof inner liners to prevent caking).

5.2 Storage

  • Should be stored in a normal-temperature, dry area, away from moisture and direct heat sources.
  • For liquid variants (AOS/35, AOS/38), avoid freezing (preventing viscosity changes) and ensure containers are tightly sealed after use to avoid contamination.
  • For powder variants (AOS/92), protect from moisture to prevent caking, which may affect product solubility and performance.
