Uses: It is a substrate for α-amylase and can be used to measure the activity of α-amylase. It is used in the research and development and large-scale preparation of amylase (AMY) reagent EPS substrate method. Under the action of α-amylase, this substrate is hydrolyzed into glucose and p-nitrophenol (PNP). The generation rate of PNP is proportional to the activity of amylase, and the activity of amylase can be determined by detecting the increase in absorbance at 400 - 415 nm.
