  • Pharmaceutical Field:​
  • Mainly used as a lubricant for tablets and capsules, with a common dosage of 0.5% - 2.0%. It can improve the disintegration and dissolution performance of tablets, enhance bioavailability, and serves as an excellent substitute for magnesium stearate. It is suitable for a variety of pharmaceutical formulations such as ibuprofen and salicylic acid.​
  • It can form a protective film in effervescent tablets. It can also be used as a taste - masking agent in dextromethorphan hydrobromide orally disintegrating tablets.​
  • Food Field: The FDA allows it to be directly added to baked goods, flour - thickened foods, etc. as a regulator and stabilizer, with a usage amount accounting for 0.2% - 1.0% of the food weight. It can be used as a dough quality improver, a stabilizer for baked products, and a thickening agent for starch or wheat flour.​
