  • Synthesis Method
    • It is usually prepared by the reaction of ethylenediamine with chloroacetic acid, or by the reaction of ethylenediamine with formaldehyde and sodium cyanide.
  • Product Uses
    • Detergent and Cleaner Industry: As a water - softening agent, it can chelate calcium and magnesium ions in water, prevent scale formation, and improve the decontamination ability of detergents. It is used in laundry detergents, washing powders, dish - washing liquids, etc.
    • Food Industry: As an antioxidant and stabilizer, it chelates metal ions in food to prevent them from catalyzing the oxidation of fats, prolonging the shelf - life of food. It is applied in canned foods, beverages, dairy products, etc.
