Appearance
- The pure product is a white powder. In practice, due to different compositions, it may appear creamy, light yellow to amber. It is often made into aqueous solutions with a concentration of 50% - 70%.
Types and Their Characteristics
- APG-0810:
- Synthesized from fatty alcohols with a carbon chain length of C8 - C10 and glucose.
- It has a low surface tension, adjustable HLB value, strong wetting power, strong detergency, rich and fine foam, and good compatibility.
- APG-0814:
- It is a mixture of APG-0810 and APG-1214, incorporating the advantages of both.
- Has high surface activity, good ecological safety and compatibility.
- APG-1214:
- With a longer carbon chain, it is more hydrophobic than APG-0810.
- Exhibits better washing and emulsifying ability, as well as stronger resistance to strong alkalis, strong acids, hard water, and high salt content.
Performance Characteristics
- High Surface Activity: It has a low surface tension and high wetting ability, strong detergency, and can produce rich, fine, and stable foam. It shows a significant synergistic effect when combined with other surfactants.
- Good Solubility: Generally soluble in water, and has excellent compatibility and stability in active solvents with a high inorganic component content, as well as in acidic and alkaline solutions, without cloud points or gelation phenomena.
- Excellent Biodegradability: It can be completely biodegraded in nature and does not form metabolites that are difficult to biodegrade, which is environmentally friendly.
- Mild and Non-Irritating: It has extremely low irritation to the skin and eyes, is non-toxic, and safe to use, making it suitable for use in personal care products and detergents.

Applications
- Personal Care Products: Used in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, hand sanitizers, etc. It can clean gently and protect the natural oils of the skin and hair, being suitable for people with sensitive skin. It is also used in toothpaste to increase foam and maintain moisture.
- Detergents: It can be used as a raw material for laundry detergents, dishwashing detergents, multi-purpose cleaners, etc., enhancing the cleaning effect and improving foaming performance.
- Other Industrial Applications: Used as an adjuvant in the textile and dyeing industry; used in metalworking fluids in metal processing to provide lubrication, emulsification, and corrosion inhibition; used as a dispersant, wetting agent, or emulsifier for pesticides and fertilizers in agriculture; used as a wetting, dispersing, or emulsifying agent in coatings; and also used in oil field applications such as oil production.
