Product Application

Biodegradable Polymers (Core Application):

Monomer for Poly(D-lactic acid): Used to synthesize poly(D-lactic acid) (PDLA). When blended with poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA), it forms stereocomplex polylactic acid (sc-PLA). sc-PLA possesses a much higher melting point (~220°C), superior thermal stability, crystallinity, and mechanical strength compared to standard atactic PLA. It is a next-generation high-performance biodegradable plastic for advanced medical devices, heat-resistant packaging, high-performance fibers, and engineering plastics.

Copolymer Monomer for PLA Modification: Used in synthesizing copolymers of PLA with other monomers to tailor polymer crystallinity, degradation rate, and physical properties.

Pharmaceutical & Agrochemical Intermediates:

Chiral Synthon: Serves as a chiral building block for synthesizing enantiomerically pure drugs and agrochemicals, such as certain antibiotics, antivirals, and herbicides.

Drug Carrier: Used to prepare drug delivery vehicles with specific degradation profiles.

Food & Feed Industry:

Acidulant/Preservative: Functions similarly to L-lactic acid, but regulations in some regions strictly limit D-isomer content due to differences in human metabolism. Used as an acidifier and prebiotic in animal feed to modulate gut microbiota.

Food processing aid.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid contact with oxidizers and bases.Due to hygroscopicity, low-temperature storage is advised. Concentrated aqueous solutions may crystallize at low temperatures.
