1. It is mainly used as a raw material for producing alkyd resins, wetting agents, detergents, insecticides, surfactants, food additives, and cosmetics. This product is often employed as a lubricant and possesses multiple functions such as lubrication and vulcanization. However, due to its corrosive effect on metals, it is generally not used in plastic products like wires and cables. Its application is most extensive in the surfactant industry, and it is also utilized in the fragrance and pharmaceutical industries.
2. It is used to prepare surface treatment agents for adhesion applications. Additionally, it is used in the manufacture of alkyd resins, chemical fiber oils, insecticides, synthetic fragrances, plastic stabilizers, and anti-corrosion additives for gasoline and lubricating oils. It is widely used in the production of various types of surfactants, including:

Cationic types:​ Laurylamine, lauronitrile, trilaurylamine, lauryldimethylamine, lauryltrimethylammonium salts, etc.;

Anionic types:​ Sodium lauryl sulfate, lauryl alcohol sulfate ester salts, triethanolamine lauryl sulfate, etc.;

Amphoteric ionic types:​ Lauryl betaine, lauric imidazoline, etc.;

Non-ionic types:​ Poly-L-alcohol monolaurate, polyoxyethylene laurate, laureth glyceryl ether, lauric diethanolamide, etc.
