Spandex Fiber (Elastane):

The dominant application​ (consuming ~70% of global PTMEG), typically using Mn ~1800-2000. It provides spandex (Lycra®) with exceptional elastic recovery, soft hand feel, and superior chlorine/hydrolysis resistance, used in apparel, sportswear, and medical garments.

Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomers:

Uses PTMEG with Mn of ~1000, 2000. For producing TPU pellets, subsequently processed into footwear, films, hoses, cable sheathing, phone cases, and automotive parts, offering outstanding mechanical strength, elasticity, and wear resistance.

Cast Polyurethane Elastomers:

Uses PTMEG with Mn of ~1000, 2000. For manufacturing high-performance industrial rollers, seals, conveyor belts, mining screens, and sports flooring.

Other Polyurethane Applications:

Used in high-performance coatings, adhesives, and sealants​ to enhance flexibility and adhesion.

Serves as a component in specialty surfactants, lubricants, and plasticizers.
