Product Description

Product NameDiethylene Glycol Methyl Ethyl Ether(DEMEE)

CAS No: 1002-67-1

Form: liquid

Product Application

Coatings & Inks (Core Application):

Water-borne Coatings: An efficient, versatile coalescent widely used in architectural latex paints, water-borne industrial coatings, water-borne wood finishes, and water-borne anti-corrosion paints. It is a leading alternative to more hazardous traditional coalescents (e.g., Texanol®).

Solvent-borne Coatings: Used as a high-boiling-point solvent to improve flow and leveling.

Inks: Employed in water-based inks and some solvent-borne inks to adjust drying time and leveling.

Cleaners & Degreasers:

Used in formulations for heavy-duty degreasers, metalworking fluids, and precision electronics cleaners. Effectively dissolves greases, fluxes, etc., and is relatively easy to rinse and treat due to its water solubility and biodegradability.

Personal Care & Cosmetics:

Used as a solvent, solubilizer, and stabilizer in cosmetics, skincare products, and perfumes. Helps dissolve fragrances and active ingredients and can improve skin feel.

Other Industrial Fields:

Textile Dyeing: Used as a dye solvent and leveling agent.

Brake Fluid Component: A component in some synthetic brake fluid formulations.

Chemical Synthesis: Used as a reaction solvent or extractant.
