Detergent Industry (Traditional Major Use):

Filler & Processing Aid: A key component in synthetic detergents (laundry powder) as a filler, anti-caking agent, and processing aid​ to improve powder flowability and bulk density.

Glass Industry:

Finishing/Refining Agent: Used as a refining agent​ in glass melting. Decomposes at high temperatures, releasing gases that help remove fine bubbles from the melt. Also provides a sodium source.

Pulp & Paper Industry:

Kraft Pulping Process: An important chemical for replenishing sulfur and sodium​ in the chemical recovery cycle of the sulfate (kraft) pulping process.

Textile Dyeing Industry:

Leveling & Exhausting Agent: A critical auxiliary in the dyeing process, especially for direct, sulfur, and vat dyes, improving dye utilization and levelness.

Chemical Synthesis:

Raw Material: Used in manufacturing sodium sulfide, sodium silicate, ultramarine, and other sodium-based chemicals.
