Polyurethane (PU) Industry:

Production of Polyester Polyols: Reacts with diacids (e.g., adipic acid) to produce polyester polyols for flexible/rigid foams and elastomers, imparting excellent mechanical strength, oil resistance, and heat resistance.

Engineering Plastics:

Production of PBT Resin: Polycondensation with purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) to produce Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), a key engineering plastic for electrical/electronic and automotive components.

Solvents & Fine Chemicals:

Production of THF: Dehydrative cyclization to Tetrahydrofuran (THF), an important organic solvent and feedstock for Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol (PTMEG, used in spandex fibers).

Production of GBL & NMP: Further processed to γ-Butyrolactone (GBL) and N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP). NMP is a high-end solvent for lithium-ion battery electrode binders, electronics cleaning, and polymer synthesis.
