1. Core Basic Information

  1. Product Name: HDB-1050 Wetting and Dispersing Agent
  2. Chemical Category: High-molecular block polyether nonionic wetting and dispersing agent, synthesized by block polymerization of ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO). Its molecules contain polyether blocks with different chain lengths, achieving wetting and dispersion through the dual mechanism of "steric hindrance + interfacial activity", and it is characterized by ease of use and strong versatility.
  3. Appearance and Properties: At room temperature, it is a colorless to pale yellow transparent viscous liquid, free from visible impurities, precipitation, or stratification, with good fluidity, facilitating metering and addition during production.
  4. Core Functions: Efficiently wets and disperses various active ingredients/powders, is easy to use without complex operations, and is suitable for a wide range of application scenarios, meeting the dual needs of "ease of use + versatility" for wetting and dispersing agents in multiple fields.

2. Key Technical Parameters

Parameter Category Typical Index Range Description
Solid Content 98%-100% High active ingredient content, no solvent dilution required, and it can exert wetting and dispersion effects directly, improving ease of use.
pH Value (1% Aqueous Solution) 5.0-7.0 Weakly acidic to neutral range, highly compatible with various pesticide active ingredients, chemical powders, and additives, avoiding acid-base imbalance in the system.
Viscosity (25℃, mPa·s) 200-500 Low viscosity, good fluidity, facilitating pipeline transportation, precise metering, and rapid spreading and wetting in the system.
Molecular Weight 3000-5000g/mol The high-molecular block structure is the core of "steric hindrance stability and strong versatility", suitable for the dispersion needs of particles with different particle sizes.
Hazardous Substance Restrictions Free of APEO, heavy metals (Pb/Cd/Hg/As ≤5mg/kg), and VOCs Complies with environmental standards such as EU REACH and China's GB/T 23377-2020, suitable for green production scenarios.

3. Core Performance Advantages

  1. Outstanding Ease of Use and Versatility: No pretreatment (such as dilution, premixing) is required; it can be directly added to quickly wet and disperse various active ingredients (such as fungicide, insecticide, herbicide active ingredients) and chemical powders (such as talc, carbon black). The applicable scenarios cover pesticides, coatings, inks, adhesives and other fields, solving the industry pain point of "special dispersants need customization and complex operation".
  2. Excellent Synergy of Wetting and Dispersion: It has good wetting effect on both hydrophobic and hydrophilic particles. After dispersion, the system particle size D90 is ≤3μm, and the suspension rate remains ≥92% after 14 days of thermal storage at 54℃±2℃. There is no stratification or agglomeration during long-term storage, ensuring product stability.
  3. Excellent Quality Stability: Adopting a mature EO-PO block polymerization process, the fluctuation of key indicators such as solid content, pH value, and viscosity between batches is ≤3%, ensuring consistent performance of each batch of products in large-scale production and reducing formula adjustment costs caused by product fluctuations.
  4. Good Process Compatibility: Excellent high-shear resistance, with stable molecular structure at a sand milling speed of 1500-3000r/min. It can be compounded with nonionic, anionic, and cationic surfactants without compatibility conflicts, suitable for complex formulation formulas.

4. Application Scenarios

  1. Agricultural Field: Production of various pesticide suspensions (SC), emulsion in water (EW). It can realize uniform dispersion of active ingredients by direct addition, especially suitable for multi-component compound pesticide systems, simplifying the formula development process. It is also suitable for seed coating systems to enhance the adhesion and uniformity of the liquid on seeds.
  2. Chemical Field: Dispersion of powders for coatings (such as water-based coatings, solvent-based coatings) and inks (such as gravure inks, screen printing inks). Rapid wetting enables uniform dispersion of powders, improving end-product performance such as coating hiding power and ink coloring power. It is also suitable for adhesive and sealant systems to help filler dispersion and improve the mechanical properties of products.
  3. Other Fields: Ceramic slurries, battery material precursor dispersion and other systems, helping particles disperse uniformly, improving product quality and production efficiency, and no additional process adjustment is required due to its ease of use.

5. Usage and Storage Instructions

  1. Recommended Dosage:
    • Pesticide systems: 1.0%-3.0% (based on the total mass of the system); for complex compound systems, 2.0%-3.0% is recommended;
    • Chemical powder systems: 2.0%-4.0%, adjusted according to the oil absorption and hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity of the powder.
  2. Usage Method:
    • Direct addition: It can be directly added in the premixing stage of active ingredients/powders and solvents, and initial wetting and dispersion can be achieved by stirring for 5-10 minutes;
    • Post-adjustment addition: If the system particle size is still too large after sand milling, add 0.5%-1.0% of HDB-1050 and stir for 15-20 minutes to optimize the dispersion effect.
  3. Storage Conditions:
    • Store in a sealed, cool, dry, and ventilated place, with the temperature controlled at 5℃-35℃, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures (temperatures >40℃ may accelerate product aging);
    • The package should be sealed as soon as possible after opening to prevent moisture or impurities from mixing in and affecting product performance.
  4. Shelf Life: Under specified storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months (from the production date), and it is recommended to use it within 2 months after opening.

6. Precautions

  1. It is recommended to conduct a 200g small-scale test before first use to determine the optimal dosage for the adapted formula, avoiding insufficient wetting and dispersion due to insufficient dosage or increased costs due to excessive dosage;
  2. Wear nitrile gloves during operation to avoid direct contact with skin and mucous membranes. If it gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention;
  3. Do not store or use with strongly acidic (pH <4.0) and strongly alkaline (pH >9.0) substances to prevent decomposition of polyether segments and avoid affecting wetting and dispersion performance;
  4. Slight color difference (colorless to pale yellow) may exist between different batches of products, which is a normal phenomenon and does not affect wetting and dispersion efficiency, so it can be used with confidence.
