2. Product Characteristics

  1. Efficient Thickening and Rheology Control:
    • As an acrylamide thickener (ASE), it can significantly increase the viscosity of water-based coatings and latex paints even at low addition levels, forming stable pseudoplastic rheological properties (high viscosity at low shear, low viscosity at high shear). This effectively prevents sedimentation of coatings during storage and improves anti-sagging performance and coating uniformity during application.
  2. Pseudoplastic Rheology:
    • It has the typical "shear thinning" characteristic: when stirred or applied (e.g., spraying, roller coating), it is subjected to high shear force, and the viscosity decreases rapidly to facilitate the flow and spreading of the coating; after the shear force disappears, the viscosity recovers quickly to prevent coating sagging, which is especially suitable for vertical surface coating scenarios.
  3. Wide System Compatibility:
    • It is compatible with mainstream water-based coating systems such as pure acrylic emulsion, styrene-acrylic emulsion, and vinyl acetate-acrylic emulsion. It can play a stable role in latex paints, water-based industrial coatings, and architectural coatings without affecting the basic properties of the coating, such as gloss, drying time, and adhesion.

  2. Water-Based Industrial Coatings:
    • Can be used in metal anti-corrosion coatings, wood primers, etc. It enhances the adhesion of the coating on vertical surfaces, prevents sagging, and at the same time ensures the physical properties of the film after formation (e.g., hardness, wear resistance).
  3. Other Water-Based Systems:
    • Suitable for scenarios requiring rheology control such as water-based color pastes, adhesives, and water-based inks, ensuring the stability of products during storage and use.

4. Usage Methods

  • Addition Amount:The recommended addition amount is generally 0.1% - 0.5% of the total weight of the system. The specific dosage needs to be determined through small-scale tests based on the coating formula, viscosity target, and process conditions.
  • Addition Method:
    1. Pre-neutralization method: Neutralize the thickener with alkaline substances (e.g., ammonia water, AMP-95) to a pH value of 8 - 9, dilute it, and slowly add it to the coating system under stirring.
    2. Post-addition method: Add it in the later stage of coating production, and disperse it evenly through high-speed stirring. It is recommended to use it with a pH regulator to optimize the thickening effect.

5. Storage and Transportation

  • Storage Conditions:Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place at 5℃ - 35℃, avoid direct sunlight and freezing, and keep the package sealed to prevent moisture absorption or contamination.
  • Shelf Life:Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 - 24 months.
  • Transportation Requirements:It is a non-hazardous product and can be transported as ordinary goods. Avoid severe vibration and inversion during transportation.
