I. Basic Information

  • Product Type: Defoamer
  • Brand & Model: Foamaster NDW
  • Core Ingredient: Mineral Oil, processed through an advanced deep refining process, featuring high purity and low impurities. It possesses excellent foam-breaking and long-term foam-inhibiting properties, with outstanding compatibility with synthetic latex systems.
  • Packaging Specification: 180 kg/iron drum. Encased in a thickened galvanized iron drum, equipped with a sealed pressure cover and leak-proof rubber gasket, it can effectively resist transportation vibrations and warehouse environment erosion, making it suitable for industrial-scale bulk procurement and long-term storage.

II. Core Features

  1. Specialized Compatibility with Synthetic Latex SystemsTailored for mainstream water-based latex systems such as styrene-butadiene, vinyl acetate, acrylate, and water-soluble acrylic resin, it precisely matches their surface tension characteristics. It rapidly eliminates foam during stirring, emulsification, and construction stages without chemically reacting with latex particles, ensuring system stability.

  2. Dual Mechanism of Efficient Foam Breaking and Long-Lasting Foam Inhibition

  • Instant Foam Breaking: Mineral oil molecules can quickly penetrate the foam film wall, disrupting the surface tension balance of the film layer. It achieves "second-level defoaming" in foam-prone processes like paint mixing and adhesive emulsification, preventing production disruptions caused by foam accumulation.
  • Long-Term Foam Inhibition: It forms a stable micron-sized oil droplet dispersion phase in the system, continuously inhibiting foam generated by temperature fluctuations or microbial activity during storage, as well as bubbles formed by air entrainment during construction (e.g., roller coating, spray coating). The foam inhibition duration is extended by over 30% compared to traditional products.
  1. Low Dosage and Zero Interference with PerformanceThe conventional dosage is only 0.1%–0.8% of the total system mass to achieve the ideal defoaming effect. After addition, it does not affect key properties of the coating film such as gloss (suitable for matte/satin/semi-gloss systems), adhesion, and weather resistance. It also does not shorten the open time or disrupt the curing speed of adhesives, making it particularly suitable for high-end coatings with strict requirements on appearance and performance (e.g., WPC wood-plastic coatings, exterior wall weather-resistant paints).

  2. Optimized Compatibility with All ProcessesIt performs excellently in construction processes such as spraying, brushing, roller coating, and troweling. It will not cause defects like shrinkage cavities, oil spots, or poor leveling on the coating film due to uneven dispersion of the defoamer. In putty and mortar systems, it improves troweling smoothness and reduces surface roughness caused by residual bubbles.

III. Application Fields

Application Scenarios Specific Role Description
Water-Based Latex Paints Suitable for WPC wood-plastic coatings, matte interior wall paints, satin/semi-gloss exterior wall paints, elastic waterproof coatings, etc. It solves foam problems during production and construction, ensuring the coating film is smooth and free of pinholes, enhancing decorative effects and functionality.
Adhesive Systems Compatible with styrene-acrylic emulsion adhesives, vinyl acetate-acrylic emulsion adhesives, etc. It eliminates foam during stirring, avoiding cavities or strength loss in the bonding layer, and ensuring bonding reliability in scenarios such as packaging and woodworking.
Water-Based Inks & Putties Used in water-based printing inks, exterior wall putties, and texture coatings. It inhibits foam during grinding and stirring stages, ensuring clear printed patterns of inks and smooth surfaces of putties after troweling.
Other Synthetic Latex Products Suitable for latex sealants, water-based release agents, etc. It controls foam interference on product molding and performance during production, such as preventing bubble pores in sealants after curing.

IV. Usage Recommendations

  1. Addition Timing
  • It is recommended to add during the system grinding and dispersion stage (e.g., during paint color paste preparation) or the later stage of paint mixing. If a large amount of foam has already formed, add a small amount first to control the foam, then supplement to the recommended dosage.
  • For high-viscosity latex systems (e.g., high-build coatings), the "pre-dilution before addition" method is recommended (dilute the defoamer with 10%–20% deionized water) to enhance dispersion uniformity.
  1. Recommended Dosage
  • Water-based paints: 0.1%–0.5% (of the total system mass);
  • Adhesives/putties: 0.3%–0.8% (of the total system mass);
  • Before first use, a small-scale test (e.g., preparing 100g samples to test defoaming duration and compatibility with different dosages) is required to determine the optimal dosage, avoiding slight oil shrinkage caused by excessive addition.
  1. Operation PrecautionsMaintain a stirring speed of 200–400rpm when adding to avoid disrupting the dispersion state of the defoamer due to high-speed shearing. If used together with other additives (e.g., thickeners, film-forming aids), it is recommended to add them at an interval of 15–30 minutes to prevent mutual interference between components.

V. Storage and Safety

  • Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry place at 5–35℃, away from direct sunlight or freezing. After opening, seal the drum mouth tightly and use it up within 6 months to ensure performance.
  • Shelf Life: The shelf life is 12 months in the unopened state (subject to the date marked on the package).
  • Safety Tips: Wear protective gloves and goggles during operation. If it comes into contact with the skin, wash with soapy water. This product is not a dangerous good and should be handled as an ordinary chemical during transportation. For details, refer to the MSDS Safety Data Sheet.
