This allows it to maintain the low surface tension and other characteristics of polysiloxane while enhancing compatibility with other components in the coating system and the ability to specifically eliminate different types of bubbles.
  • Appearance & Character: Usually appears as a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with good fluidity and no visible mechanical impurities, facilitating uniform dispersion during coating production.

2. Product Features

  • Efficient Defoaming and Foam-Inhibiting Ability: Whether it is bubbles generated during coating manufacturing due to stirring and mixing or bubbles introduced during construction operations such as spraying and brushing, Defom 6500 can quickly and effectively inhibit and eliminate them. It can rapidly reduce the surface tension of the bubble liquid film, causing the bubbles to burst and preventing the generation of new bubbles, ensuring that the coating remains in a uniform and stable state during storage and use.
  • Broad System Applicability: Suitable for solvent-based coating systems, including but not limited to alkyd resin coatings, acrylic resin coatings, polyurethane coatings, etc., as well as solvent-free epoxy coatings. In different types of coating systems, it can be well compatible with resins, solvents, pigments and other components without affecting key performance indicators such as drying performance, hardness and gloss of the coating.

  • Solvent-Based Coating Field

    • Industrial Protective Coatings: In various solvent-based industrial protective coatings for metal components (such as alkyd anti-rust paint, acrylic polyurethane topcoat, etc.), it can effectively prevent bubbles from affecting the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating, and prolong the service life of metal components.
    • Automotive Coatings: Suitable for solvent-based coating systems in automotive original factory paint and automotive refinish paint, ensuring that there are no bubbles or pinholes in the automotive body coating, and improving the aesthetics and durability of the automotive appearance.
  • Solvent-Free Epoxy Coating Field

4. Usage Methods & Recommended Dosage

  • Recommended Dosage: Generally 0.05% - 0.5% based on the total mass of the coating formula. The specific dosage needs to be adjusted according to factors such as the type of coating system, the severity of bubble generation and the construction process. For example, for high-viscosity coating systems with more bubbles or complex construction processes, the dosage can be appropriately increased to 0.3% - 0.5%; for low-viscosity coating systems with fewer bubbles, the dosage can be controlled between 0.05% - 0.1%. It is recommended to determine the optimal dosage through small-scale formula tests to achieve the best defoaming effect.
  • Addition Methods:
    • Direct Addition Method: In the paint mixing stage of coating production, slowly and evenly add Defom 6500 to the coating system, and turn on the stirring equipment at the same time, control the stirring speed at 300 - 500 r/min, and continue stirring for 15 - 30 minutes to make the defoamer fully dispersed in the coating and mix uniformly with other components.
    • Pre-Dilution Method: If the viscosity of the coating system is high, in order to make the defoamer disperse better, the solvent in the coating system can be used to pre-dilute Defom 6500 at a ratio of 1:5 - 1:10. After stirring uniformly, slowly add it to the coating system and continue stirring for 20 - 30 minutes to ensure that the defoamer is evenly distributed in the coating and exerts the best defoaming effect.

5. Storage & Safety

  • Storage Conditions: Should be stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, avoiding direct sunlight and high-temperature environments. The recommended storage temperature is controlled at 5 - 35℃. The shelf life of unopened products is generally 12 months; after opening, the packaging barrel needs to be sealed in time to prevent the product from volatilizing and reacting with moisture and oxygen in the air, which will affect the defoaming performance of the product. It is recommended to use the opened product within 3 months.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Operators should wear protective gloves, goggles and masks and other protective equipment when using this defoamer to avoid direct contact between the product and skin and eyes. If it accidentally comes into contact with the skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water; if it splashes into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention in time.
    • Since the product is a flammable liquid, the storage and use places should maintain good ventilation, open flames and smoking are strictly prohibited, and corresponding fire-fighting equipment such as dry powder fire extinguishers should be equipped to prevent fire accidents.
    • During handling, handle with care to avoid damage to the packaging barrel due to impact and extrusion, resulting in product leakage. In case of leakage, the leakage area should be isolated immediately, and adsorbents (such as vermiculite, sand, etc.) should be used to absorb the leaked material and properly disposed of in accordance with environmental protection requirements.
