  • Excellent Defoaming Performance: For solvent-based and solvent-free reactive curing coating systems, it can quickly eliminate bubbles in the system. In polyurethane thick film coating, whether it is bubbles introduced by stirring in the early stage or carbon dioxide bubbles generated during the reaction process, it can be efficiently removed, ensuring a smooth and flat paint film surface without defects such as pinholes and bubbles.
  • Outstanding System Adaptability: Especially suitable for low-viscosity and low-component reactive oily systems, it has good compatibility with various resins, solvents and other components in oily systems, and will not affect the curing reaction and final properties of the system, such as adhesion, hardness, gloss, etc.

  • Industrial Protective Coating Field: For solvent-based and solvent-free industrial protective coatings, such as steel structure anti-corrosion paint, ship paint, etc., it can quickly remove bubbles during thick film coating, enhance the adhesion of the coating to the substrate, improve the protective performance, and extend the service life of the protected object.

4. Usage Methods & Recommended Dosage

  • Recommended Dosage: Generally, 0.05% - 0.3% based on the total formula. The specific dosage needs to be adjusted according to factors such as the foaming degree, viscosity and reaction activity of the system. For systems with serious foaming, the dosage can be appropriately increased, but it should not exceed 0.5%. It is recommended to determine the optimal addition amount through small-scale tests.
  • Addition Methods:
    • Direct Addition Method: Under the stirring state of the system, slowly and evenly add Defom 5500 into the system, and continue stirring for 5 - 10 minutes to ensure that the defoamer is fully dispersed. This method is suitable for most conventional systems.
    • Pre-dilution Method: If the system viscosity is high, the defoamer can be pre-diluted with the solvent in the system (the dilution ratio is generally 1:5 - 1:10) first, and then added to the system. This can improve the dispersion effect of the defoamer and avoid local agglomeration.

5. Storage & Safety

  • Storage Conditions: Should be stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, avoiding direct sunlight and high-temperature environments. The recommended storage temperature is 5 - 35℃. The shelf life of unopened products is generally 12 - 18 months. After opening, it should be used as soon as possible. If it is not used up at one time, it should be sealed and stored to prevent product volatilization or deterioration.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Protective gloves, goggles and masks should be worn during operation to avoid skin contact and inhalation. If it accidentally contacts the skin, it should be rinsed with plenty of water immediately; if it splashes into the eyes, it should be rinsed with plenty of water immediately and seek medical attention in time.
    • This product is a flammable liquid. Fireworks are strictly prohibited in storage and use places, and corresponding fire-fighting equipment, such as dry powder fire extinguishers, should be equipped.
    • Avoid mixed storage and transportation with strong oxidants, strong acids, strong alkalis and other substances to prevent chemical reactions.
