Basic Information

  • Chemical Composition: A solution of high - molecular - weight block copolymers with pigment - affinitive groups.
  • Solvent: Propylene glycol methyl ether acetate/Butyl acetate (ratio 6/1).
  • Packaging Specifications: Commonly available in 25 kg/blue iron drums and 190 kg/blue iron drums.
  • Typical Physicochemical Data: Acid value is approximately 11 mg KOH/g; Density (at 20°C) is 1.02 - 1.03 g/ml; Non - volatile content (20 min., 150°C) is 30%; Flash point > 26°C.

Product Features

  • Pigment Stabilization: Prevents pigment re - flocculation through steric hindrance stabilization, keeping the tinting strength and hue of pigments stable in coatings and pigment pastes. It has excellent stabilizing performance for both inorganic and organic pigments.
  • Performance Improvement: Improves pigment wetting, reducing grinding time; Lowers system viscosity, avoids thixotropy, and improves leveling; Increases gloss and enhances color strength; Improves the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments; Prevents flocculation between different pigments.
  • Good Compatibility: The high molecular weight and resin - like structure do not affect the durability of coating binders, and there is no interaction with acid catalysts.

Application Fields

  • Recommended Fields: Industrial coatings, especially coil coatings.
  • Suitable Systems: Best suited for acid - catalyzed polyester/amino topcoats and PVdF (polyvinylidene fluoride) systems. It is also applicable to acid - catalyzed polyester/melamine topcoat systems for automotive topcoats and general industrial coatings.

Recommended Dosage (Additive dosage in purchased form, based on percentage of pigment)

  • Inorganic Pigments: 10 - 20%.
  • Organic Pigments: 35 - 70%.
  • Titanium Dioxide: 5 - 6%.
  • Carbon Black: 70 - 140%.

Addition Method and Processing Guidance

For optimal performance, the additive should first be added to the grinding paste, and then the pigments should be added for subsequent operations.

Storage and Transportation

When the temperature is below 0°C, delamination and turbidity may occur. Before use, it needs to be heated to 20°C and mixed thoroughly. When this additive is used in two - component polyurethane systems, the pot life of the system needs to be checked.
